What You’ll Do
Position Summary:
The Director of Product Development will be responsible for managing the full product lifecycle, from ideation and development through production and market launch. The successful candidate will drive the strategic roadmap, coordinate cross-functional teams (R&D, engineering, manufacturing, marketing), and ensure alignment with SGI’s rapid growth and market penetration objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to market launch and post-launch management.
Define clear product roadmaps and strategies aligned with SGI's business goals.
Coordinate and oversee collaboration among engineering, R&D, manufacturing, QA, compliance, and marketing teams.
Establish and manage project timelines, milestones, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective product delivery.
Conduct market analysis, monitor competitive landscape, and identify opportunities to drive market leadership.
Collaborate closely with the CEO , CTO and Director of Engineering to align product strategies with technical capabilities and innovation initiatives.
Develop and manage product documentation, specifications, and go-to-market materials.
Engage regularly with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure continuous product improvement and alignment with market demands.
Executive Leadership & Business Growth
Collaborate with the CEO, CFO, and executive leadership to align technology strategies with market expansion and revenue growth.
Identify merger and acquisition opportunities, strategic partnerships, and government contract bids to accelerate adoption of SkyGuard’s technologies.
Represent SkyGuard Innovations in global security and AI industry events, smart mobility forums, and OEM safety summits.
Mentor and build elite engineering, AI, and cybersecurity teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technological excellence.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Technology Management, or and product commercialization strategies.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively in a high-growth, related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc.) preferred.
8+ years of experience in product development, product management, or related roles, ideally within technology-driven sectors (AI, IoT, Automotive, Security Systems, SaaS).
Demonstrated track record in successfully launching technology-based products into competitive markets.
Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, high-pressure environment.
Analytical, strategic thinker with strong business acumen and customer-centric mindset.
Proven track record in AI-powered security system development, passive vehicle safety R&D, and large-scale technology deployment.
Deep knowledge of AI, machine learning, computer vision, and neural network optimization for security and safety applications.
Experience with ECU design, vehicle security integration, and passive safety system innovation for OEMs.
Proficiency in IoT cybersecurity, AI-driven automation, and smart home security protocols.
Knowledge of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262, NCAP, SAE J3061) and cybersecurity regulations (NIST, GDPR, ISO 21434).
Strong executive leadership, strategic planning, and team-building experience.
Experience working with aerospace, defense, and law enforcement security solutions is a plus.

SkyGuard Innovations offers a highly competitive executive compensation package, including:
Competitive base salary: CAD $150,000 – $170,000/year (commensurate with experience)
